Dumb birds.

In the early 1960's I climbed the grain elevators in west Santa Rosa to capture squabs. It was like picking up Easter eggs. I raised the chicks into the summer and then let them fly, and they would always come back to roost. That's the part I like the best. To see them fly off and come back. When the fall came they all went their way.

Now that youtube video brought it all back. Gooey flour. eeek

Some Vietnamese cuisine was pretty tasty, I recall, but the meat was anything but pork or beef. I preferred not to question what it was.

The militarized strips in Viet Nam were like midways at carnivals. All the vendors: some sold food, some sold trinkets, and some sold drugs and sex. And you know what was the most popular. Big Cedar was a temple job, I suppose the tree was thought to pose some dangers, perhaps had dropped some limbs on the stone steps entrance to the place. During the monsoon season, trees fall over and crush things, and it looks like that time of year. Damage to temples runs into major money to repair. Some particularly heavy rain seasons get folks to worrying. You can see that they are using a Tirfor to pull over the big log, must have taken my advice.
