Would a cop ever ask someone to do a wheelie down the freeway? Seems unlikely.

Seems more likely the cop was waving his hand to tell him to slow down, and the biker interpreted that wrong.

I know some riders will get dummy plates made up where the plate/bike colour /model matches an existing registration

I think a lot just keep them bent at an angle so the plate can't really be read.

I remember when my best bud had his R1 he was big into cat walking with it. We live in quite a rural area with lots of somewhat secluded highway with great rides. So my buddy is 'practicing' on a nice secluded straight and the police just happen to be out doing a speed trap. They clocked him from a stop up to 185kph on one tire the whole way before the lights came on. He immediately dropped the front end and toned it down and idled up to the car. The officer complimented him on his control and only gave him a 'normal' speeding ticket which is supposed to end at 40kph over. He was in a 80kph zone. Lucky.
