I knew a guy from Pennsylvania, sounded like he had a slight a speech impediment, a bit similarly, but his whole home area sounded like that, evidently.
I guess a grew up with a bland midwest accent, with a some amount of Chicago. Not "Da Bulls" and "Da Beers", but my dad, who grew up in the city, said "tree" instead of "three" when I was little.
