My uncle was a farmer, was killed when he unhitched a farm trailer with too much rear weight. Flew up and hit his head.
There are a million ways to die on a farm, most of them hidden. Farmer near here died last year, fell into a pig slurry tank, drowned. In tree work whilst it's dangerous, you sort of know when it's dangerous.
Because few companies know how to adjust their chipper's bed knife properly!
You know! That distinctive whop, whop, whop sound a properly set bed knife makes when a blade knife passes within a whisker of it?

A guy I knew, his dad was a second generation feed corn farmer in Wisconsin, a big operation and he'd (dad) been around farm machinery all his life. One piece of machinery had some type of rotating shaft that stuck out a bit. Somehow it caught him around the shirt collar and choked him to death. I don't think anyone saw it happen. I sent flowers from California.

I see what you are looking at but I don't think RR intended any hand shaking or other niceties, they disliked each other. From what I have observed, the braziiian is a product of her culture, they seem to do a lot of over the top, silly trash talking, like threatening opposing athletes with death.
RR is in a tough spot. Women's mma is in its infancy and the people she fights are glorified amateurs, she needs a high quality opponent, a foil, to push her and bring out her best. No such person is on the radar yet.

I don't much understand a lot of that cage fighting. They say that people are trained martial artists, but it looks to me to be a lot of flailing about and often if you get a lucky punch in, you win. Not saying the stronger person skill wise doesn't often win, but it doesn't seem like much disciplined fighting, say like a boxer that has a plan from studying their opponent and can slip punches and counterpunch, that kind of thing. It's often a more reckless abandon thing like kids on a school yard. Like to see Ronda take on a female Shaolin priest, if they exist.

A lucky punch can indeed end any cage fight, but generally, there is definitely the exact same discipline and strategy involved as you mentioned for boxing, but it extends across the various disciplines of boxing, kickboxing, wrestling, jiu jitsu, etc. Like most sports, there is always a strategy to take on the type of threat your opponent presents, avoiding their strengths, attacking their weakness. Making the strategy work is of course the trick.

There is very little money in the sport, except for the best of the best who are indeed earning in the millions all told.
The lowest level ufc guys make about $6k per fight, mid level guys make in the teens per fight. For the beatings taken and work put in, compared to established pro sports, they make jack doodley
