Two trees in the forest neighboring one another had a long standing debate as to which variety of tree was superior birch or beech trees respectively.
One day the two trees notice a young sapling well below growing up from the forest floor. The brirch proudly proclaimed the sapling to be a "son of a birch". The beech tree quickly retorted that in fact it truly was a "son of a beech". Back a forth they went "son of a birch" no "son of a beech" until a woodpecker flew in. The two trees asked the woodpecker to go down and find out whether it was a "son of a birch" or a "son of a beech". The woodpecker obliged. He flew down and pecked away on the young sapling. Upon his return the two trees insisted he tell them the saplings true identity, "son of a birch" or "son of a beech".
The woodpecker said, "It's neither birch nor beech, just a little ash, and might I say the finest piece of ash I have ever had my pecker in!"
Happy ALOHA Friday!
