I read a long excerpt from that book in Outside magazine several months ago...it is a very poignant story, much detail about what that 11 year old went through on that mountainside. If you want something that will tug at your heartstrings that is certainly a good one.

Huh, I thought this was another religious thread.

Sounds like a great book. I remember reading "Alive" by Piers Paul Read a long time ago. Made quite an impression on me back then.

Boardman Tasker Omnibus. One of the best climbing collections around.

I read Alive as well. Its a gripping read best saved for winter.

That looks like a good read.

My favorite of all time is The Cat from Hue by Jack Laurence
It's a memoir but it tells the Vietnam story without any sugar coating or false drama... and the guy can really write.
