Got my new Arctic last week. Really like this saw. This thing likes to rev. Thats what I like in a 50cc saw. If I want torque I use a bigger saw. Pics of 2 old favorites and 1 new favorite.

This 261 runs about 20 min more per tank than the 260. Has an oiler issue however. Running 5 tanks of gas to 1 of oil. New pump on its way.

I take it the other fix didnt fix the problem then.

Sounds typical for a Stihl oiler. On several models the West coast version with the full wrap handle has a higher capacity oiler, although Stihl dealers will usually not be aware of the part numbers and they don't show up on the IPL. Also some models will interchange. The MS361 oiler could be replaced with the oiler from the MS460.

It did for 1 tank. Talked to the area tech for Stihl Canada. New design pump so no other will fit. Supposed to do 1 tank of gas to 3/4 tank of oil set at max.

My 361 goes at about the spec volume of oil to mix, Brian. Bar isn't burnt, and I buck Doug fir firewood over the 25 inch bar length with regularity. Lucky me, I guess.

Do you have some sort of regulations on how much oil the pumps can put out.

Reasom I ask is I often hear americans complain about the bad Stihl oilers and we never seem to have any problems here.

So I thought maybe Stihl fit different oilers in saws released in the US?

That little 261 was the one I test drove last summer. I REALLY liked it, but now I have my eye on it's new little brother, the MS241.

I had to buy a new 441 yesterday, so I won't buy one right now, but it would be really fine for a small "on the ground" saw.

I took a fall and landed saw first, the 441 hit something hard and the bottom of the engine case busted out.
Never had that happen before with any saw.
Repairing it would cost too much for a two seasons ols saw, so now I have a new one.

My saw is a German made one. Starting this spring we no longer get US made saws. Would like to get a 241 here.
