One of the great voices of our time

She sure has a beautiful voice, I'd never heard of her until last week when I was searching for this song. Lots of people have sung it, there is no best version but she's pretty good.8)

When she first appeared, all the operatic sopranos got in a total huff about her.

(young, extremely pretty and with that voice, no surprice!)

Her voice was untrained, unschooled and just a flash in the pan, really.
If she didn't get formal operatic training, she'd burn out early.

Now, 25 years later Sissel still sings happily.

And has done work with some of the best ( since those are male)operatic tenors of the world

Brother and sister harmony from the Belle Brigade.

This made me pull my guitar out and dust it off. Man I still suck.

That Herman Cain thread kept me awake last night, I hadn't heard of him before. I got it after a while.:)

I can't find the one I wanted. I don't agree with most her thinking, but she sang some good songs.

What it's all about, a good band and folks having a great time. I saw Queen Ida once. She tore it up.

Great playing in that vid.

Roy Rogers, I used to see him playing with his blues band at a small tavern on the Tomales bay. He'd tear the place apart every time, everybody dancing and going nuts right up next to the stage. Fantastic fun!

If Robert Plant could go back in time, I wonder if he would wear another shirt?

I read where Led Zeppelin was a great studio band and a mediocre live one. Seeing the vids, the live performances seem very good.

For years and years the only live footage of Zeppelin was from the Song Remains the Same. It was the end of their U.S. tour, they were tired and had just found out that their road manager ran away with all their earnings from the tour(millions). Page never liked that film. More recently they found a stash of earlier recordings from some of their better shows. They released a live DVD and concert CD called How the West Was Won which showed them at their kick ass best.
