I just got reconnected with a friend from childhood. He and his brother were the first guys in school to form their own rock band. Evidently there still at it. The name of their band is The Cowboy Perverts. They are definitely NSFW but they actually have a decent sound. My friend is the lead guitar player and the skinny guy with the cheesy mustache,trying to get you in to watch the strip show.

That video of Zevon performing Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner was his last public performance ever. Dave Letterman was a big fan and devoted the entire hour to Warren. Here's a video of Warren recoding his last record at Billy Bob Thornton's studio. Can't quite make it through the entire thing without getting a tear or two. Something about watching a man face his own death that really gets to me.
