The Government (U.S.) says it's no time to worry or panic ...

I'm not really worried, but flu is unusual up here this time of year. And I do have a young daughter. I'm no freakout artist over nothing but if it starts spreading like crazy in town I'll be taking steps to protect my daughter for sure.

Lauri's company sent them to Brazil after all. She arrived there today. I told her to wear a mask in MIA, but I am sure she did not.The company sent them with the antibiotic they would need in the event they contract the flu.

No, the masks you see people wearing are designed to keep you from spreading germs to others. They offer no personal protection.

Hey Squisher, taking steps to protect your daughter may be just letting her contract the flu now since its not killing folk. There is a potential for it to mutate and become MUCH worse, in which case her immune system should allready be educated to the virus. Like everything else in life just a big roll o the dice.

However IMO this is just hype and nothing to worry about. If it were the real deal you would be seeing the national gaurd digging mass graves with a bulldozer..........:|:

Absolutely correct, except that virus's aren't germs or bacteria. If a germ was as large as a football field, then a virus would be the size of a grain of rice. Therefore, they can pass through a mask no problemo.

And they can't be killed because they aren't really alive.
