Ah...ladies in uniforms, as could be expected, there is a lot of variation. Most you can chat up a bit, the people passing through their lane, only say thanks, if that at all, and it has to be a boring job, I figure. I give credit to the high school girls who sometimes are doing that job, it shows initiative compared to most. There was a really nice and attractive lady at one of the markets, who had spent some time in Virginia, she mentioned, but she appears to not be working there any longer. :( I was hoping to improve her English.

Sorry, back to scary stuff..

Maybe in the big cities, but it seemed like one day earlier this year, I walked in the market and every checker was suddenly wearing a mask. Previously, it was only ones with a cold or allergy. The thought went through my mind, could they all be sick? A rule must have been implemented.

I think I'd go nuts wearing a mask all day long.

I washed the cooking pots at a Mexican restaurant, ran the dishwasher device, until Jose hit me in the eye with a broken sunday glass tossed across the kitchen, headed for the dumpster. Consequently, a little visit to the emergency room. I don't believe wearing a mask was required, and it would have gotten all soggy from the steam. :|:

I can wash the azz out of any pot now, based on that experience with the burnt refried beans.

Yeah, those heavy rubber aprons are awesome attire. You could get mistaken for an undertaker, or someone who drains car batteries.

I'd rather piece out the shitscariest limb at great risk , to AVOID going back to the restaurants ! ... although Butch is 100% right on , it's a character builder .... without a good work ethic , you're OUT ! ...

I enjoyed scrubbing the pots, the endless supply of hot water was relaxing. The problem was that the pots never stopped coming, it was scorched pot infinity. You could never be finished until closing time. :|:

MB is right.. It does build character. It also builds skills in multitasking and organization. Good managers come out of food service also.
Interaction with wait staff ??? I did not do so well as a chef except for after work ;) I was the soup Nazi.. HAHAHA
I had high expectations of most people. I also demanded quality service and product. So I often came off as a hard ass.
All the places I worked, only two enforced gloves. One both gloves and mask. That was a hospital kitchen.

Possibly two cases in Lowell Mass today.

We're doomed, we'll never make it.

I had alot of fun with the chefs/cooks....they called me EZ....but of course, I wasn't. (my initials on my tickets slurred together to look that way)

My ex was a chef. I blame him for me being such a poor cook, I never had to learn back then.

Maybe just my poor memory, but I seem to remember chefs as being somewhat 'prima donna-ish'.........

News flash....the Derby won't be cancelled. That's good, I plant tomatoes on Derby day and I would have gotten all out of order. :|:

Oh yeah, Mike............EOUWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
