I do! I worked with a mexican fella once that told me more info than I ever wanted to hear!:barf: Let's just say it's escaped Britain!

I feel sorry for the mexican people. Their economy is largely based on tourism, it'll be hard for alot of people down there.

nope i have a cold and all i did was go to a TCC and share a room. I even work at home and that did not keep me UNSICK

also was the sheep in Britian or was that Mad cow

And to think it all started with a sick pig and someone that did not wash their hands.

Well, my daughter's business trip to Brazil was just canceled because of the swine flu. She was supposed to leave Saturday. The company in Brazil does not want to interact with Americans or Mexicans. If she went she would have to in quarantine for 10 days, so they are not sending her

I am starting to think this is getting blown out of proportion. So over 100 confirmed cases in US but 0 deaths:? Doesnt seem so deadly to me. Did you know that so far this year there have been 3500 deaths due to regular flu, strange the media isnt freaked about that..... Something doesnt add up

It gets everybody's mind off the imploding economy.

I kinda feel the same way. The really scary thing is how much control is exerted by the Media in our world. I'm always amazed at the cycle of "breaking news".

And statistics I've seen show 35,000 deaths per year in the U.S. Any Wiley is right, the media is of course responsible for much unnecessary fear mongering, IMHO.

I think they have too much time to fill and not enough content. Ten minutes on the top of the hour, gives you the basics of what's going on, the other fifty minutes they use to dwell on things and thing up worst case scenarios. I don't think it is done with malicious intent so much as that the news, as serious and straight forward as it is supposed to be, is still an entertainment medium, fighting for viewers.

two cases in New York's Schenechtedy (close by) , a new case in New Hampshire's Concord hospital (also not far from here) .... I guess hand washing isn't really the answer ...

It sure helps when you have kids in daycare.

What would you do differently? Close our borders?
