Just one other thing I happened to think of... The area past the landing zone but still in line with the lay is a dangerous place when a dead tree lands. I've seen BIG pieces fly far (~60') into that area with the force of... well... a bigass log flying through the air really really fast. It would be like being hit by a car. With thoroughly dead trees, keep people out of there with a redirect on the tightline.

I've had pieces of the butt break off and come through the woods at me. I was running the ropes for a friend, and had two exit paths through the woods, both at angles to the lay. The top of the stick broke in two pieces, and one piece went down each of my escape routes. Big chunks of pine log will make even me run fast.
