All the flowers are blooming in waves this year as we get rain, then warm sun, then rain. Hope she gets more soon as I am starting to see more varieties starting up now. It's one of my favorites too Paul. I am still a sucker for lupine as well. Used to pick those for my mom as a kid. Used to try and brighten up her days like that
They call it an Indian Paint brush up here. It's actually one of my favorites. But I am not so sure. Our plants are a little stout like this picture. And the Indian Paintbrush you see further east is a taller and single stemmed. Still trying to find more on it. I am not great with proper plant latin names.
the wife and i went for a hike at wilder ranch state park yesterday. ended up walking about ten miles of beutiful trails, and lots of really cool trees. i want to go back and climb the big live oak.
a few more. the drill press is in the old ranch woodshop, the whole shop is hydro powered! there is a pelton wheel in the corner of the shop that drives the line shaft.
