Ok so why is this forum better than arborist site ?

I hang here to be around pro's in the industry. That other forum is littered with home owners, I can't stand dealing with them during the day, let alone during my internet time.

I've met and spent time with dozens of the people on this forum, great group of friends.

I am new to this site and it seems that they are more pro tree guys/gals here than on AS. I was refered to this site by an AS member Treeslayer so far I have read post after post that was all tree care and no fluff.

Thats just it a lot of non pros and all that is talked about are saws. There is very little play in the commercial tree care forum and for a website to call itself Arboristsite when there what? Maybe 5% that are in the biz.

7-8 years ago it wasn't like that. Heck, almost all of the original members here used to hang out at AS years ago. I was one of the slow ones, one day I looked around the commercial tree care forum and said to myself "Where is everybody?" and realized that almost everybody with anything worthwhile to say had left. This is where they came, so I followed them. Of course half of us were banned by Darin anyway.

I don't mind AS I have made some friends over there but it is all superficial conversation and cookie cutting. I am glad treeslayer turned me on to this site. I have sent a lot of time trolling the search over there and I seem a lot of names that were banned.

I am a member of several forums, some just to shoot the shit, some to compare saws and mods. What I like about this place is the respect that you guys seem to have for each other. I'm not in the tree industry. I cut a lot of firewood, and I take down some troublesome trees for the older folks that live near me. I repair saws, just saws, no freaking lawn mowers either. I trade parts a lot on AS. I spend most of the time in the off-topic area BSing. The fact that this thread is here says a lot to me about this place, It would last about five minutes there. I'm not a person that seeks drama, I do enjoy good company though.
