Seriously, that saddle is pretty darn nice. Today I climbed a willow, 2 cottonwoods and an ash. I would say that is a good test. Is the saddle perfect? No. I am not a big fan of the amount and placement of the gear loops/snaps. Is it comfy? Hell yeah! I performs as good if not better than I remember my Glide 2. Keep in mind that I am not some super fast comp climber. I am just some fatty who climbs trees for a living. I dont do huge trees on a regular basis. I guess I am just some average tree climber doing average trees, but I do really like this saddle. For those of you concerned about the hitch being up to high.... rest asured that there is no way that my hitch will ever be out of reach. This is a very nice saddle at a fair price.

do you like it as much as your Tengu? sounds like it isn't all everyone thinks it is Eric? yeah? nah? :) i still like the look of it though, but i see Luke is asking people if they have tried the Skylotec kolibri...now that looks like a frikkin' ride man ;)

To me its like the Tengu, but with a floating bridge. I would get another one in a second and I cant say that about the Glide 2. The Glide 2 is the only other floating bride saddle that I climbed in long term. I have tried the Butterfly, Treeflex, Blair Ultralight, Weavers:( and I have hung in the Ergovation and the Treemotion. The NT floating bridge is the one I like the best, but remember that is only after one day. I also want people to have some perspective when they read my opnion. I am not a great climber getting ready to climb in the ITCC. I am just a daily grind arborist who likes this saddle, but would make some minor design changes if I could. I will be keeping my Tengu on the truck for removals on spikes, because I cant see how this would be a great saddle on spikes. I am glad I have two good saddles now.

so???? what would you change? ;) 2 saddles??? lol, I have 4 bra' :)

Not enough gear loops and I would do away with the snaps on either side.

that is one thing I love about my Sequoias... focus04_.jpg LOTS of gear loops and spots got caritools or biners :)

What would be objectionable about climbing with spikes and that harness? Too close from the bridge to a climbline choked on a trunk to tension a climbline?

the loops in the pic seem like they are positioned well. I never found a legit use for the loops on the way back of my sequoia.

I carry a rope snap on the back loop of my Sequoia, use it to weight the rope to throw it. Never even notice its there till you need it. FWIW somehow my old snap got taken off of the harness and lost, I went about a month without one and cussed every day when I reached back and remembered I didnt have it. I am pretty minimalist with the gear on my belt, only other thing is 1 biner. Yes I know that snap can smash out some teeth but I cannt do without it....

Well I have a couple of pics. The job on Friday was not really the kind of job where I could have my partner take pics of me in my saddle. We were pretty much working solo in different parts of the yard the entire day. I tired to grab a couple of pics with my cell phone camera. They are not good by any stretch, but maybe they will show the placement of the bridge.

I was not in a full out dead hang, but I had as much weight in my saddle as I usually do while working a tree. I was about 25ft up in a crotch of a tree when I took these pics.

cool, got any pics Eric of the whole saddle? the way it sits when hanging? or moving? :) you climb on 1/2"...I find it weird now after going to 7/16ths ;)

The house was up on a pretty steep hill. Cary, my chainsaw hanging from my saddle made my 150ft Fly, an 80fter and a 70fter. Fly sucks anyway. The safety blue was just a spare rope we had that was at least 120ft. My new 150 of Bluemoon should be here tomorrow.

Not running, just got it right I guess. Its ok cause I really really really hated the fly and I really wanted a new line.
