In answer to the questions about whether the d-ring ends up in front of your face, no it does not. The risers off the leg pads keep it down to a comfortable level. Or at least they did for me.

more about the Seqioua.....

I like the fit and has been a good saddle. Until, I stripped the head on the bolt on one of the gated rings...... You CANNOT buy a replacement gated ring!

I have to send the whole saddle to Petzl so they can replace a modular part on a modular saddle. What a crock of shit. The last petzl saddle I will ever buy.

I'd been looking forward to this new saddle with bated breath ever since I heard about it's development...now looking at it I suspect I'd not like it as much as I would have hoped. The bridge appears to mount your hitch much higher than I would prefer.

Not fair to make a judgement without trying it out, for sure. I'll have to figure out a way to do that.
;)

I agree, I was really looking forward to see this new NT saddle. I think I'll pass on it for now till I hear more about it.

I made some serious adjustments to my Pinnicle one Sunday pm and now it is much much more comfortable to climb in and it doesn't kill my hips anymore.. I didn't realize how far out of adjustment it was. I fixed it so it will stay adjusted and so far it has been ok.

I'm still in the market for a new saddle and came close to to buying a Cougar till this bridge business surfaced on the net. Looks like a deluxe version of Buckingham's Versitile is going to be my choice.

I like the concept of a saddle with a rope bridge and leg straps.I can see the advantages of having a saddle with these two features, especially for limb walking.

I am just gun shy after hearing about wear on these rope bridges and how they can be a pain to change out. The reports that keep surfacing about aluminium rings failing doesn't help either.

That truly sucks...I'm loving my Sequoia, but that really sucks

I don't think you can buy them because Petzl doesn't want climbers using them as a quick and dirty bridge ring...;) easy fix bra'? don't strip the screwheads!:big-laugh:

John, why not take the ring to a machine shop and have them re-do the threads and make a slightly larger set screw?

I have never undone my Sequoia rings. I just put rope bridges on. Sean, or someone else tipped me off that you couldn't get replacements without sending the whole saddle back.

You would think that they would have some rings at their larger retail outlets. That sucks!

you sent it to friggin' France??? holy shit man, that is crazy...are they covering the shipping?

It came today and so far I really like it. Keep in mind that I only tried it out in the garage. The bridge is not high at all. I would say that it is not any higher than what my Glide was. I think tomorrow I get to try it out in some trees. I will post more after that.

Let me try tomorrow to get some pics. No promises but I will try. When I just do a dead hang, my friction hitch is about between my man-boobs. If I have my weight in the saddle as if I was doing a limbwalk, the hitch is about 4 inches above my belly button.

With the hitch at that height I could see it being unreachable at times. Like when your back is to your TIP and you are reaching out to do some tip work, you need just a few more inches and reach around behind you to feed some line though the hitch.
I dont often get turned around backwards like that, but on occasion it happens and when it does my hitch is beyond reach with my Seqiuoa or my TM. And with those my hitch rides about belly height.

Well then it sounds like a non-issue then. If your hitch is sometimes just out of reach with every other saddle on the market, then why would everybody make such a huge stinking deal over it with this saddle? Especially when nobody here has even tried the saddle on yet?

Ah yes, again you are right. I sometimes forget you are an expert about everything.

We are having a discussion here about some potential pros and cons about a new product Brian. The last thing we need is your arrogant all knowing ass piping up about it. If its such a non issue than why don't you just STFU.

Ahh, but if he is sportin moobs, how do we know how low his button hangs?
