My favorite little saw is not using any bar oil and I want to try and fix it myself as its not worth the money to pay someone to do it for me. I guess my first question is can it be fixed? Secondly, what should be checked and fixed? My first thought was that I will pull the saw apart and see if I can get to the oil pump and inspect it. I dont really know what I would look for, but I guess that is my first step. I am also planning on draining the oil tank and making sure there is not debris in there blocking something.

I also am worried because the saw seems to be leaking oil from somewhere. I cant seem to find where but there is usually a little puddle under the saw after it has sat for a while.

Thoughts?

Check the rubber line that goes from the oil tank to the oil pump. I usually pull that off and shoot a little compressed air through it and that clears up the gunk that gets stuck in there. Also, I have had oil leak from that same rubber hose not being properly seated into the oil tank.

I know, I know, but please, make sure the bar is clean and the oil holes aren't plugged up!

Exactly. The 2100 didnt oil when I bought it. Bar oiler hole plugged up, bar groove full of wood chip mess. The crankcase oiler hole and whole area was plugged up and the rubber hose was packed full of crap. Cleaned everything and works great now.
