Anyone have any experience with them? A women is selling one on Craigslist here. She won it in a divorce and she just wants it gone. She knows nothing about it but claims that it always worked for them. It was just a toy for them. She is asking $2500 for it but I think she would take just about anything for it. I am thinking about looking at it for a backup to our Vermeer. I would love to hear from anyone who has used any model M& M chipper. For what it's worth I think this one is a K16 model.

Workhorse machine, like most cnd's. Not much to go wrong, and the MnM's were a robust design. Go for it.

I have not run them but I have heard that they are bullet proof. There is a guy down this way that rents/leases them, Allied Equipment in Germantown, right around Hwy 45 and Town Line Rd.

I know Allied. I didn't know they rented M& M chippers. I am not sure I would rent from him anyway. Have you before?

No, I have not rented there and to be honest I don't know of anybody that has. It seems that every time I drive by his gear is still in the same spot, if nothing else he might be a good source for parts or where to look.

I am way up here in Canada and even I have heard of them. They have a good reputation!

Old Wayne's were made in Canada, they also made street sweepers I believe. My Wayne CnD did alright by me, still ran fine the day I sold it.

I've had no experience with the M&M's though.

That FMC I had was a rockin c n' d. I could toss a 7" diameter, 20 foot long limb in there with no problems at all.

mitts n merril is still made today in ohio, karl kumerlings yard is shared with the guys that make them
i ve used older ones, 12" capacity ..they worked fine, no complaints

I had an M&M for 10 years. It had 12 staggered knives on a 16" diameter drum. The smaller drum is 12" with 9 knives. Due to the position of the bed knife up a few degrees from the very bottom, it chips slower and makes a far better chip than any of the old handfed chippers save for the old Fitchburgs which had a spring loaded feed table. Typically they are best chipping 6 inch material, and 8" is max.

Knives need to be fairly sharp or you have to force the brush through.

Best hand fed chipper ever made, imo.

When I started line clearing in residential with the Sohner Tree Service in 69 the chip trucks had the chippers mounted between the cab and the chip box. Wood chucks and Fitchberg they were. CND

Off road we use the 12 inch Asplund trailer mounted CNDs These were the best thing going at the time.
