TREECYCLE

Just wanted to share some pics of a recent demo I did with a nice little telehandler. Picked up a nice sized Elm and Fir log. Also loading chips. 4- wheel steer is real nice.

I'm sure it's nice to not have to load by hand. Here is my little helper. Grapple opens to 60" and it will pick up 3500 lbs. with the foam in the tires and weights on the back. Got a stump grinder for it as well. To top it all off it's 47" wide.

Cool machine, can't really have better visibility than that. If I go with the telehandler I am thinking something like off of a self-loading log truck for the grapple? Cheers

p.s was your loader able to reach over that rail fence to pick-up the branches?

It could'a. I can set down a log over my one ton dump with 4.5 foot sides. You just have to tilt forward and let the grapple dangle.

30 grand for the pictured unit with 1200 hrs on the meter, 50 grand new. With the boom sucked in it will lift 5500 lbs and at full extension (14 ft out) it is 1900 lbs. The break out force is what really impressed me and that is something like 10,000 plus lbs

have you taken a look at the boxers? The larger unit 749 I think would come close to those numbers. Pretty similar anyway. I don't know how available a used unit would be though.

That telehandler is sweet! They are a nice piece of equipment to have around.

I has this "sweetheart" last weekend. Needed to get all my brush from last winters woodcutting out of the fields. My Bobcat couldn't do it, to damn wet!

That telehandler is nice. I work at a rental place and we have two of those. They are sweet little machines, very manuverable and usefull. The maintanence is not too bad on them either.

whats the deal on ROPS for vehicles like that, I would think around here it wouldnt be allowed in that setup. forklifts, tractors etc all have to be seatbelt and ROPS equipped as far as I know.

Are you sure that thing can lift 3500?? Ive got a TCM 804 which is a lot stouter than that and can only lift 2500:?

It's got ROPS and FOPS, I'd assume they afforded a seat belt.

LJ, I was referring to this machine, which I can't see what I would expect for a rollbar etc.
It looks like it has a very low center of gravity but pretty much anything will roll given the right circumstance, no?

I threw away the ROPS for my Gehl Advantage. It only got in the way.

Oops, my bad Pauly :)

Scott, I've been thinking a bigger machine would be nice, less cutting and dicing with logs on bigger jobs. Been pondering getting/making the grapple bucket for the front end loader on the tractor.

I betcha Pete took the ROP off the Boxer.

good info. whats the benefit to taking it off? seems like minimal discomfort leaving a 2.5" tube in place.
