Keeps the area/debris gettin mixed up with rocks and dirt. Saves the chipper and the saw.
Holds the saw dust well.
Makes the client think we actually care about the Fn lawn .;)

I thnk the carpet will work well in addition to the tarp to prevent punctures and divets.

I ahve two Potato forks that work well to lift and fluff up and then tamp out the turf as well as gather
and sort debris for chipping and pushing and pulling chips.

That right there is the best reason to use carpet and tarps to bomb limbs onto. I would never haul around a bunch of used carpet, though. And my bro owns a biz where they often replace carpet. I've worked with him enough and see enough nasty carpets to know that I would never accept anyone's used dirty carpet. I'd wait for scraps. Dirty carpet is Fn gross.

Well you bomb that stuff into a dog chitty carpet and burn the whole mess .Good Lawd it isn't like you have lay out a silk sheet to protect somebodies freakin grass .

Hmm now I wonder if astro turf would be tough enough to hold up to bombing runs from a wild man tree guy ? If it's tough enough to take the pounding of 350 pound NFL football players it should certainly take few hits from a branch of a tree or two .Besides it would be more appealing to the eye rather than than a mess of yellow shag carpet that smells like a wet dog .

For bombing, how about rubber matting from some industrial supply that carries such items. Available in various thicknesses and easy to roll up and transport in sections. I've seen it sold where they will cut to your length specs. Too thick though, and it might bounce back up and hit you.

So did a lot of people, used to drive me nuts. Most of Monty Python did unless I was in the right mood, then they could be quite funny.

Did you know it came from How to Recognise Different Types of Trees from Quite a Long Way Away? :laughing6:

I totally could've used the bagster today!!! Spent a few hours pruning a coast live oak. The brush would've had do have gone uphill, around the back of the house and then down a super long super skinny walkway to the truck.

The tree went over the house. We loaded up the brush into 3 massive bundles and pullied them up onto the roof, then we carried it to the front (about 10 steps away) and just pitched it right into the driveway.

I've never done that ever in my life and it was so cool to do and saved SO much time and I couldn't help feeling sheepish when I thought, "man, a bagster would be nice right about now!"

Might have to get one, after all!

Yeah, they're pretty danged affordable for the amount of work you can do with em. I've used them to haul sod, bricks, trees, crush you name it. A tough little bundle that folds away nicely. They break down eventually, but you'll undoubtedly get your money out of them so long as you don't attack it with a spear or some such.
