Lubing carabiners

The more I think about it, the more I realize that John was absolutely right in the beginning of this thread when he recommended wd-40. Carabiners don't need lots of lube, they need to be clean. wd-40 followed by a good blast from an air nozzle will do that as well as anything and won't leave a sticky residue to attract dirt. As an added bonus, it doesn't require boiling water and possibly compromising the integrity of your lifeline connection.
 
Wow, Dave...thanks for posting those pictures. It is one thing to read the numbers of the burst point but to see the pictures really slams it home.
