Lightning Bugs

Years ago my bud and I were out in the field at night checking on our gardening. The soil had little bits of glow all over it. We finally figured out it was the phosphate fertilizer.

A variety in these parts as well. They largely disappeared with the helicopter spraying of rice fields, but now since such has been banned, they have made a comeback. They like bushes along small creeks and such.
