Interesting...in Bermuda weed is illegal, ANY amount. If you get busted for it and convicted you automatically go on the US stop list for travel to the States.
So now, if someone got hold of legal weed in California, then forgot to ditch it before travelling back to Bermuda, got busted, got a conviction, then would go on the US stop list...for possession of weed they bought in America...could happen!

Arlo Guthrie has story of such , his (now dead) Wife got trouble at domestic airport ... Seems Arlo forgotenley left a gift from a fan in Amsterdam in his bag once home. She repacked for a trip and got caught , took some talking but it seems Cops dig Arlo.

Just say no to registering with the gov't as an official target...errr...user...

Your post reminds me ... if it's illegal at the federal level, it wouldn't matter much what California votes for when it boils down to technicalities. So in a way, if it's still illegal, there could be a benefit to feds turning a blind eye.

Then whenever they want to arrest, question or search someone for some other reason, they could use pot possession as a legal excuse to arrest them and gain access.

As far as federal law and or enforcement , doesn't seem practical. As Vermont was the second to last state to raise the drinking age ( and lower the BAC ) as per the wishes of Mothers Against Drunk Driving , the way the Federal Government pressured my brave little state was highway funding ! ... Now that states like Colorado are swimming in tax money seems like a new day for state's rights vs. federalism.

Think about all the budgets all along the way: police, prosecution, public defenders, jails and staff, prisons and staff, parole system, probation system. More people free to go about their days to go to work, school, take care of family without trying to get across town to pee in a cup if their 'number' gets pulled.

Sure, there’ll be plenty of money to do plenty of good but will it do anything but line the pockets of some politicians? No matter how high taxes are it’s never enough.

The lottery was supposed to pay for the schools

I think there's a bigger picture to this whole thing.

Just prior to the 2020 election, the new administration can drop the hammer on thousands of Californians for violation of federal law, and "LOCK 'EM UP !!"

Long enough to hinder some from voting.
