From what I've learned by researching them, it's much easier for a constant load, like a stationary generator, and also for boilers. It's kinda funny that there's more info on how to run a car on a gasifier than a boiler, i guess because cars are safer to work on. When stirling engine technology advances more, i have a feeling gasifiers will become more common because the tar and dust becomes much less of an issue.
