Oh boy, some days nothing beats a bit of horsepower and some hydraulics!
I had a row of chinese fan palms to take out, to give some struggling mahoganies a chance...nothing taller than about 15', but they are heavy, messy and full of thorns. I beat those nasties with a crane truck, sling around the top, cut them at the bottom and lifted the whole damn thing into the trucks...so much fun to see a whole palm tree swinging in mid air...less time, less labour, job DONE!

Well a short truck ride away and that's exactly what happened to them!

One day I may get a crane truck, the ultimate workhorse for treework.
But for now I'm still having fun with my little powerbarrow Muck Truck. Under 300 lbs and can carry 5 times its own weight through a 27" gate up a 40 percent grade. I love this little machine.

Willard.

Do you use ramps to load those rounds? Maybe a light weight sled or trailer could help save the back from hefting them rounds so high.

No I just throw those rounds on by hand. The real big rounds I noodle split them with the 395 Husky-32" to make lifting a little easier. The nice part is I drive the loaded powerbarrow alongside my dump trailer and just tip the rounds into the box. I also dump the powerbarrows skip tray to the ground and roll the biggest rounds inside and then pull the tray back down to transport position.

I have a unfinished winter project on the go for the powerbarrow, but got side tracked doing modifications to my trailer. I'm building a bunk rack to replace the powerbarrow's skip tray. The front 2 stakes will fold down to the ground up against a large 4 ft long log. I'll have a cable hand winch mounted at the back of the bunk, run the cable/ choker over and under the log hooking the end of the choker back to the winch. Winch the log onto the bunk. Load a couple of more 4 ft rounds the same way. I then drive the load up my stump grinder ramp on the trailer and dump the logs inside. No more lifting.
Will post pictures later when I get this project finished.

is that very expensive or it has an affordable price?
Koala , I bought my Muck Truck Max a few years ago. Paid $2,800 Canadian for it plus tax. The Muck Truck has been on the European market for about 20 years I believe.
If you check their website you can see lots of videos etc. www.mucktruck

Me?I guess i'd use the boxer to load the mucktruck with wood, then i'd use the boxer to carry it to the truck, then i'd use the boxer to lift it over the tailgate and dump the entire load in the truck. But thats just me:D

Definitaley love hydraulic power too. I gotta say, my hand were getting soar this afternoon from running the controls on the mini. Whoa life is tough.

Cranes, lifts, log loaders, mini's, chippers, Wraptors, GRCS's, i'll take one of each!

Willard can keep his Muck Truck, I'd load a mini in it's spot. :D

Well now boys if I needed a hydraulic heavy duty grapple machine I'd spend the money on a full sized skidsteer that can do some "real work".

But for my little mucktruck that weighs only 286 lbs versus your minis at well over 2000lbs and my muck truck can carry over 1,000lbs versus your 500 lb carrying limit. I have a more versatile machine, able to haul stump chips, rounds, brush. Even carry all my gear ,saws etc in one load to the customers tree also helps, best employee I ever had. And it cost me under $3000 brand new.

Yes I would buy a full sized skid steer if I needed more work done faster.

I hear ya, right tool for the right job, and as long as it fits you so be it.

Some are your facts are inaccurate though, but I'm not one to argue. 8)

I will!:D Mine does all that stuff too except it also does the lifting which is the hard part. The boxer is over 2000 pounds but the dingo I sold Dave is about 1200 pounds. It may be rated in the 500 pound range but tips closer to a thousand pounds, that is the real number. I'm not saying it's wrong for Willard, but it is right for me..... For now

Once you get a mini, you wonder how you ever did anything without one! And, yes, they lift a lot more than you think, and what they are rated for! For tree work, it does more than you can with a full size machine, it gets into places you couldn't, doesn't tear up the yard as bad, is a lot more maneuverable, and the visibility is much better.
Maybe I'm just biased though?
