Oh it's not that I mind doing it but more so trying to get it completed before bad weather sits in . I have the knowledge ,tools , money etc but time is one thing that's not on my side . Plus the fact it's a total pain in the ass disruption to remodel a house while you are living in it .

The finish work should be done in about a week .Then comes the joy of approximently 800 square feet of hardwood and tile floors .That should be a real picnic ---not ---

It's iffy if the floor gets down before Yule time . The young lady hasn't made up her mind yet what she wants .I suggested we paint the plywood sub floor and call it a day but that idea got over ruled .

Raw unfinished hardwood is a lot of work to finish in place,I went down that road on another house of which I didn't own .

There's a lot of options ,real 3/4" hardwood ,lamenites, engineered .So far I've not been impressed with anything except the real McCoy thick hardwood .

Same with tile,a zillion options .Vinyl is out though .I'll be damned if I'm going to spent all this time and money then cheap out on the finish .About like putting recaps on a new Cadillac .Besides that at 62 years of age ,if it's done right I'll never have to fool with it again .:D

Today the rest of the trim with luck will get installed . I was a little concerned about matching the white ash to the pine trim but it looks good so far .

I wished that time wouldn't have been a factor because I'd have made all the trim from oak or ash .That however would have taken a month of Sundays to do .

Ash I might add is a pleasure to work with it's just a damned shame that eventually none will be left I'm afraid .:(
