Yes you did! It started coming unglued on me in terms of electronics today, and I realized the riddle hadnt been solved.

FWIW some of the Fords used ground connecters where a group of grounds could be disconnected in order to annalize or isolate certain components for trouble shooting purposes .If one of those SOB's becomes slightly disconnected it can cause a mulititude of problems .

They did things completly back assward by switching the grounds instead of the hot wires also .It can be a nightmare trying to trouble shoot them without a wiring diagram .The colors and even the wiring numbers can change from wiring harness to wiring harness .

The very best tech manuals and diagrams are by Mitchel but the average person cannot afford them .Often some public librarys have the manuals in their research section where certain portions can be photo copied for about a dime a page .

Another option if you have the operaters manual is it gives a web site in addition to a place you can get the OEM wiring diagrams through a publication department at Ford .These are basic but still are a sight better than Chiltons which are nearly impossible to follow .

If I think about it later on today I'll try to find the web site and address .I have the set covering the Lincoln MK 7 which should have the ordering info on the back cover .

I myself, rarely mess with electrical crap. I am very close with my one uncle who lives 10 minutes away and he is a Senior Master Diesel tech for Ford. I dont run right to him with most issues as he is a busy guy and I dont like to be a nuisance. But for serious stuff, I have that ace in the hole.

That's a good thing for sure .Let me tell you though it certainly helps if a person like perhaps himself has access to the tech manuals because it's nearly impossible to remember all the speciffics .

At one time I took care of 40 hot test engine stands that did the run testing on the engines and was well versed with Ford EEC IV and EEC V fuel injecter systems .However to work on my own stuff I ponied up over 300 bucks just so I had the info .On the other hand 300 bucks probabley would not have covered the cost of just one trip to the shop for repairs .However if a person were not interested for one reason or another of doing the repairs themselves the tech references would be a waste of money .

Al, he has access to every diagnostic system/resource Ford has to offer.
