For me to have a client named on my policy as a loss payee, it costs $100. So if someone wants to be named as a loss payee I add on $150 to cover my $100 direct cost plus my time to deal with it and go pay for it. When people hear that, they are usually satisfied just getting a copy of my certificate mailed or faxed to them from my agent. Typically only construction people or lawyers want to be named as a loss payee, and they are the worst payers so I have no problem just blowing them off. They make lousy customers.
