Full Wrap vs. 3/4 Wrap?

While backchaining the saw is somewhat trying to push itself towards you, especially if it encounters something like a nail/spike. Also it reduces the effectiveness of dogging in.
 
Dogging is usually unnecessary with a pushing chain eh?
 
Once you go wrap....there's no going back.

In the tree it's superior for all the same reasons it is on the ground. No backchaining and able to use the dogs properly no matter which side of the tree/cut you're on. You can always use the saw in the safest most efficient configuration no matter which side you're on.

And yet they don't catch on.
 
I'll bet some people here would buy them, if the dealers tried selling them. Never seen one in my 4 area shops.
Not for felling on hilly terrain but for climbing.

I'm excited to try it. It's not a matter of needing the additional <90° of grip, but that if it's there, I'll use it. I'm comfortable back chaining if I need to, but it'd be faster to just dog in and lean on it.
