Friction Saver / False Crotch?

I've thought about it. It's more streamlined than a bucksqueeze. Easy enough to try.
 
I wouldn't bother with something like that ...Once in a while a 540 wrap but generally I just use two safeties. Set one at positive the other at even or negative
 
Scott, are those 2 on the right spliced with Treemaster?
All three are Treemaster. One got nicked that day and I made a new one with those rings (note rings on center one match rings on left one...they all looked like the ones on the right one when new). Made up a complete new one while I was at it.

I use small prussics in place of alpine butterflies in tightening systems (Z drag) lately. I have a mix of sizes...Imma gonna try that setup when I'm in a small top next time. I've used the 540...that prussic/biner setup should be quick to apply. Thanks for the share...interesting idea.
 
I guess the main idea is to protect from a split trunk, but I'm gonna try it too for work positioning.
