It's a friend's dock Squish, they let us keep our kayaks at their house and give us free run of the place. That's right Jim, caught 'em off that dock, caught the redfish on a "gulp" lure. That jailbird is a sheepshead Cory. If you could see a closeup of his face and teeth you'd see why he's called that. He's a mollusk and crustacean eater, can eat barnacles right off a piling and turn a crab into puree. Thanks for the good words guys, y'all be safe and hold down the House, leaving out today for Wyoming.

Ray is a lucky dude. Hard to fathom the recent news on studies showing how badly depleted fish stocks are in the ocean now. Some movement about pertaining to doing something about the tuna disappearing, if countries can only agree.

Do you get into any surface fishing at all as I am more into using the surface lures during summer when the bream and bass are on the bite.

Sometimes flies, my home river is flies only through the end of the month in my favorite stretch. Just been too busy to go hardly in the last few months. Should get to posting more here soon

Another day on the river Saturday gone. Fished from early afternoon until 2 hours past dark & no salmon or sea trout to show for it, but a beautiful day on the river again

Atlantic - still to catch one - I'm a novice at fishing for them & it does not seem easy on the fly

I've read that Atlantic salmon don't eat once they come back into fresh water. Do they just strike as a reflex action?

Pretty much - you have to drop in on there nose to trigger a response it seems. Had a couple hooked but not landed one yet

Same with Pacific salmon. They don't get far into fresh water and the bite turns off for the most part
