I'm curious about the hardware setup that JB Holdway's tether setup that he is using hear for his traverse. Is it a Petzl Grigri and Petzl Basic (handle ascender) boltd to a Petzl Fixe Pulley? Looks like a sweet traverse setup. DMM Captain Hook is way too pricey though IMO.

The Captain is a cool tool. The shape and balance are just right. It works best with a very light weight rope as comes with the kit. Unfortunately, the Gri Gri does not work well with Sirius Reep Schnur but the Trango Cinch does. For a haul back system, the Petzl Rollclip paired with a CT Roll-n-Lock works great.

Petzl Rollclip and the CT Roll-n-Lock. Carabiner for size reference.

Love to see that rollclip setup in action! Very cool.

I agree, Stephen. That was a simple and effective demonstration on the usefulness of the hook. Nice smooth technique also.
