I've got a 6" vise with a worn out 18" .325 bar that I cut one side open with a dotco cut off wheel. .050 on one side, .063 on the other and I sit on my bar stool, watching tv or listening to music while I file. Gary's way looks mighty uncomfortable to me!

I have a little bench in my hunting gear room that I fix saws on. I bring a broken one home from work and rehab it there. Doesn't get used a ton really. I file saws there now and again.

Is that a basement room, Chris? Basements are cool for chainsaw shops, I know a profeesional shop that is quite a bit beneath ground level. You can really concentrate down there, warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and they have a big fan that sucks out the fumes up to the ground. Very peaceful down there, just the mechanic and his Stihl calendar girls. Is it still June?

I have a shop but its a barn really. I don't fix anything in there. Yes jay, that's in my basement. Stephen, that's not all of my hunting gear. I have a lot. I don't have much money, but I have loads of hunting gear. Go figure.....

My basement is where my wood stove is. I like to turn on a little music and pull up a stool and fix a saw now and again. Not often of course. But sometimes I enjoy it. Im not great at it, but I can rebuild them and replace parts.

I have a vise in the shop but usually sharpen on the vice I mounted on a reese hitch on my chipper. When not in use it stows away in a side box and the winch stays on the chipper.

I have vises galore but ony one at the house in the garage .Usually I just flip it up on the tailgate or use a round of wood if needed

And this what I use on the job Image.jpg small enough to easily stow and heavy enough for aggressive filing.

Cool hunting gear room Tucker, Some dude in California just signed a law that your not allowed to have lead in your bullets.

And a few others to boot... we called the bills on his desk, the dirty dozen.
You will also now need a back ground check and be registered to even buy ammo. At least he veto's the one that would have even made the 10-22 illegal

Here's my trusty tailgate filing station.
I could make a fortune marketing these.....would cost me less then a dime a dozen to make:lol:
