Here's some articles from 1964-65 from a west coast logger Otto Oja whose is a good writer to match his logging skills.

I'll be away from Tree House for a few weeks, a while back I won a raffle draw and now my family and I are off to Punta Cana in the Dominican . I would have rather won the 1st place $25,000 boat and motor but at the moment I'll gladly take a trip to where's it's hot .
Yesterday I felled and bucked up 30 lake shore spruce for a customer with a sharp -43 below wind chill coming off the lake.......I thought OK I'm ready to get out of here for a bit.

Otto Oja was a pretty fair artist too. Some of his illustrations were in Logger's World and Finley Hayes' books.
