Something hasn't been right with the old peepers, so I went for a check-up. The doc determined that I have a build up of fluid pressure on the optic nerve, a forerunner to the eye disease, glaucoma. One in about two hundred people get it. I have to put these drops in my eyes now, twice per day, to lower the pressure before the next exam, maybe will have to use them for the rest of my life. With care, my vision shouldn't be effected, I believe. A number of people on both sides of my family have the condition, it's in part a hereditary disease. I was waking up with a headache just above my eyes, and my eyes felt a little heavy, that's what alerted me.

Don't neglect your eyes, guys, get them checked from time to time. Often, like with the fluid pressure thing in some cases, you don't know there is a problem without getting tested, and you can go blind from the condition.

Thank you, V. Yes, after only one day of using the eye drops, my headache in the morning went away, and my eyes feel ten times better. The pressure must have gone right down.

Pretty darn good medicine, for sure. Just need to keep taking it until it runs out, and get another exam, see if applying the eye drops is a permanent thing, or not.

I have a heriditary condition regarding glaucoma .Both sisters have it ,one brother plus my father did also .

When they found I had pressure in one eye I opted for the laser treatment ,that took care of it ,goody .

Well along with that I had a little BP problem, short fuse at times .:/:A little pill takes care of that ,real mild dose . They say the BP could be related to the eye pressure thing .

I read that recently, Al, BP can be connected to the eye pressure thing. The doc didn't ask about it...go figure? My BP isn't elevated, fortunately.

No such thing as medical marijuana in this land, it isn't even discussed. A very archaic mentality about smoking grass here, although more and more people are wanting to try it these days. Arrests are in the news :(

Well actually I didn't even know I had a BP thing until the eye problem .It was a little high ,like 160 .She sent me immediately to my family doc .It was high there also .I told them to wait ten minutes and checks again ,120 .:/:

I have what they call in the medical biz,the "white coat " syndrum .I get a tad apprehensive around medical people ,just the way it is .Well ,a little pill ,good as gold .:)

The idea of losing sight is devestating. Take care of yourself, Jay... and anybody else that might have symptoms & might not follow through.

WOW
what a drag, i'd a thunk they would have made tea out of it or something, or butter to make a batch of cookies or bannana bread, besides smoking it

oh well stick to the dr's pharmacuticals and just take good care of yourself

Ha! You mean work it into the routine where our men politicians are dressing up in their girl's high school uniforms and having melted wax dripped on themselves.

ttg, that's mild compared to a lot of the kinky stuff that gets thought up here. A zillion dark narrow streets with even darker sex clubs in the big cities. Some will even pick you up at the train station if you're in a hurry.

Your eyes could go bad in those places.......;)
