Yoooo- lotta good stuff in this thread!
The cold tub continues to be money $$$, I'm in probably 1/wk and never ever regret it.
So recently I've been having a lot of fun with 'Bring Sally Up'(which I posted about earlier, #76,77). Basically you do push ups to that song; when the song says UP you go up and stay there until the song says DOWN and then you go down and stay there until it say UP again, etc, etc. The reason it is so compelling and effective IMO is 1) you are exercising to music which tends to make it fun, 2) you are doing repeated isometric holds implicit in the process and this provides a different and apparently effective strength building mechanism. The recurring isometrics combined with recurring movement is fun and challenging.
And if you get into the BSU thing, you find it can be done with virtually any exercise- air squats, core workouts, pull ups, dips, etc.
I'd wager most folks on earth cannot complete one round of BSU/push ups without building up to it but it is fun to try and with most exercises, BSU will be too hard to complete without doing regression of the given exercise, meaning make it easier to do by doing easier forms of it, e.g. doing 'girl push ups' or using a lower pull up bar to put some weight with your legs.
For all you working stiffs (

), of course there are significant time and energy constraints but I just offer this up as a potential fun and healthful change up
