Any significant gains from just removing spark arrestor? My line of thinking is if something goes wrong, pop the screen back in and you're probably still under warranty, just don't tell them. ;)
That warranty is one of the biggest attractions of Echo saws to me.
Not sure really, seems to have better pick up, but could be illusory.

My dealer suggested taking the gauze out (after I had already done it) he fixed a little electrical fault on the warranty afterwards.

If you went full medieval with the exhaust I suspect you’d invalidate it.

Can you post a link to this offer so that we might read it for ourselves, and possibly purchase one, if we have a mind to do so? Assuming that Butch has no objection to the posting of such a link, of course.

@Cut4Fun; Maybe you could lobby the guy to post a link to his standard website, if such exists. I'm not a member of FB, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I found it too intrusive to ask for personal info before they even let me have a look around the website to see what it is all about. I appreciate your time and efforts up to now, if I'm asking for too much with this request.

I'll third that motion. There's a whole world wide web outside of Facebook. And a fair number of people never venture within FB.

He isnt on my chainsaw repair website. So wont work. All the folks have went to social media.

Look at this for comparison to what I mean. CR website started 2011 and just shy of 5000 members. Started the CR FB group 2013 as a side kick and it is just shy of 37000 members.

The buying and selling is super fast there too. Getting info is like a snap of the figures.

Times have changed. So good luck.

@Cut4Fun; What I'm asking is whether or not the gentleman has a website of his own for his business outside of FB? Anyone with a web browser can get access to an internet address that starts with www. I would think he might provide you with a link to such a web page if you only asked him to. Which you could copy & paste here in this thread. Or is FB the only presence the gentleman has on the internet? I would find that unlikely. Apologies if I seem to be acting like a royal PIA.

@Cut4Fun; Thanks a lot! It is greatly appreciated!

Tim

Edit: I went to the website for the link, and as of yet there is no mention of this Echo chainsaw sale. He might only be promoting it on FB for some reason. If people are interested, it might be necessary to call or e-mail them to find out if the sale prices are available to the general public.

Thanks again to Cut4Fun for the efforts.

Tim

I'll do a bar/chain swap after this one gets burned up. I was rather impressed had it buried in red oak, not a speed demon but chugged along steadily.

Touch the teeth and leave the rakers a couple times and it helps. Or have some Picco made for it.
Yeah. The chain that came with it is the homeowner super safety chain more bumper links than I have ever seen. I might take a bench grinder to it today and get rid of those.
