Went to the European Finals at Santa Pod today
A bit expensive but worth it for a great day out.Uploading a shed load of pics to photobucket at the moment. Put some vids up on YouTube, pretty damn good quality considering there from my phone

Funny cars are loud TopFuel dragsters are just b'stad evil, I couldn't film them just too painful without fingers in ears.

The guy in this vid was there, nearly as fast. Not sure if my vid worked tho will have to wait and see.

Very interesting. Notice that the bike is just a tic over 5 seconds, but the speed is only 249? That means he's getting to speed damn quick off the line, but not accelerating as hard on the high end compared to a piston driven bike. Awesome run.

Used to go to the drags quite regularly, one strip about forty minutes away from where I grew up. Top fuel pro dragsters to some kid who payed his five bucks and wanted to secretly run mom and dad's car...anybody could race. I don't even think a helmet was required then. The grandstands were about twenty feet away from the strip. I saw some wild things. It was cool.

I love the smell of nitro in the morning! Blue, there is a new track in North Carolina that has 4 lanes. There is a sanctioned event next year that we are planning on going to. Can you imagine the noise level with 4 cars blasting down the lane at once? I can not wait!!
Are you allowed in the pit area over there? Here we are allowed and it is so cool.

4 lanes!! That would probably be a life threatening amount of noise from 4 top fuelers. Would love to see it tho.

AAAh happy days. I went to a bug bash there a number of years ago and used to check out the 'run what you brung' days at York Dragway.

I've seen dragsters disintegrate during their run, and the drivers get pulled out of what's left of the heap appearing unscathed. They look a little shaken though. It's an anxious moment.
