As we all are experiencing this wonderful  economy, growing our own food has become more important that just a hobby. Seems a lot of us had gardens this year and seemingly spent more time in them.
I decided to share what we have done here or more so what Rob has done in preparation for the winter months. He built a low cost green house. These things are pricey in kits and such and I really think he did great with limited resources.
We got the glass from a local glass installer (old sliders) for 10.00 per unit.
Rob put in a support structure of cross members from power poles supplied free from the local power company.. We did negotiate some in trade for fire wood.
Most of the wood for framing came from just picking up scraps from customers places that they wanted to get rid of anyway.
Most the cost was in plywood we had purchased for other projects we had still laying around and hardware like nails, plates and screws. And of course the wood stove we bought second hand. Still need some stove pipe that I think we can find at a clients just lying around..
