Bulldog Bone

Gordon was very quick to ship my bone...it left the same day I sent the order on the 5th of Feb and it got in Italy on the 10th. Unfortunately it is still in the hands of customs and I can see this and next week go by very easy before they release it for further shipment to where I live. Bottom line: Italy sucks! This is how they manage packages getting in through USPS. I checked a blog where every single person waiting for something coming from outside the European Union, was absolutely pissed off with these people from customs...not to mention when they get it lost forever...disgusting!!! Next time??? DHL or Fed Ex!!!

I haven't priced DHL but FedEx was over twice the shipping fee as compared to USPS. I will ship any preferred carrier overseas, if the buyer is willing to pay the freight.

That's good Gordon! Italy is a big nightmare under every aspect...the difficulty of getting things done and the whole attitude is the reason of its failure...economically and socially... I think the few times I bought something from 'treestuff' the shipping cost was $42 delivered by FedEx. They may have a different treatment with companies that operate on a large scale I guess (but not sure)...Plus they go directly through customs no problem. I always got my stuff in a week or eight days. I'm going to investigate why this happens. DHL...no clue! But there are hundreds of pages in the web of people complaining about receiving packages from abroad and having to wait for ages because of Italian customs and their delays...If one day I need to purchase a second bone, I will come to the US in person! I'll keep you posted when it arrives!!! Thank you Gordon!!!

They have to inspect it first but I know they're so slow...today I spoke with one of the guys from that office and he told me a bunch of things, like he didn't like the way they were handling things over there and he saw with his eyes people stealing stuff or just throwing away letters and blaming the young ones not being very honest and so...must be crazy to tell me without even knowing who I was...Still stuck in there tough! Bone, Bone, get here save and quick please!!!

Hang in there Tico.:thumbup::)

Today the 19th of Feb. I called once more the assholes at customs...they said that absolutely nothing was done. They haven't inspected the device yet and if they cannot reckon what it is they may also send me a letter asking me further questions for me to answer...There I lost it and answered that this was another good reason for me to leave this (F word) place...they said that they were lacking of workers and there was too much for them to expedite...:big-mad2::big-mad2:

Another surprise will be the extra stupid taxes on top of everything...hope not!

You've described a bit about Italy, but I'm curious to hear more from a native, the good and bad. I spent several days on the Amalfie coast, beautiful water, picturesque towns (but kinda dirty with litter), great food, some nice hiking in the local backwoods, friendly people. Went to Rome where it was real hot and crowded. Saw the money machine known as The Vatican, where if I recall it was $12.50 to take the tour, there is a 1/4 mile line, 12 hrs/day, 7 days/week. Cha ching.

I know what you mean, Cory. I wasn't born here but in Australia, my parents were...I have Italian heritage but I never liked it! I started traveling when I was young...Half of my life spent in Italy, the rest abroad...including the States...12 years...and I loved it more than any other place. For family reasons I'm here now but guess not for long...I find Italy isn't good to live in but it's obviously rich of history, art, culture...but life is different, in many aspects it is more surviving and struggling, besides getting constantly ripped off by any sort of taxes even for the air you breathe. It's becoming the third world...not exaggerating.

Bummer. Do you encounter the mafia at all or is that largely 'Hollywood'.

A friend of mine is half Italian and he says the national past time is dodging taxes in any way possible. He says barter is the norm so as not to exchange money/pay taxes ..

Oh, but the person I was speaking on the phone with, agreed 100% saying that the country's attitude must change and that was only a matter of time to get messed up like Greece...I answered that I only wanted the BDB and then Italy deserved to collapse with all its useless idiots in it! You may think I'm exaggerating but these people are like sheep when it comes to get together and stand up for their rights...Government mess them up bad...nothing happens...you should see the morons when their soccer team loses what happens...

If you intend to open up your own place, well think that a part of your earnings will go straight to their pockets ANYWHERE in Italy...no place excluded!!!

I just called customs again...just for the hell of it...and...same ol' thing...this time they said that it was better to call in a week or two because they haven't even touched it yet!

I wish I was like this guy here that wouldn't take it any more and says it the way he thinks it!

Please see Mike Powers post and picture on page 111 of the Treebuzz site of a potentially hazardous situation with the Bone and a longer style loop tether attached to the top arm.
