Buckingham vs Klein gaffs

Well I took the gaff sharpening kit off the shopping list. I am pretty good about not walking around with my hooks on. I just swear that mine done work as well as they did when I first got them last year or the year before. Maybe I will just take a stone to them and see how that does.

Maybe take a few macro pics of them now, to compare against as you re-shape them.

Maybe I will do that since I will have the next 6 weeks off from doing any tree work. Hopefully I can get them good as new again.

Just take it slow...you can't put metal back .

I just use my flat Pferd file I use for rakers. I have only touched up my gaffs twice in 7 years. But I do a lot of work around granite. No matter how hard you try and whatever your walk.. you are bound to stick a rock in the duff once in a while at the base of the tree.
