All the owners of Bandit discs that I know, at least 7, leave their bottom hatch open because it clogs up the area between the feed roller and disc if they don't. One of them has a Bandit only a year old and started leaving it open after 1 month.

But then again, you are probably not chipping stuff found in the tropics, like palms, vines and other stringy stuff.

Yah now I see what you're talking about. My feedwheels will tend to jam up more on stuff like dead pine limbs, real brittle stuff, rather than stringy stuff lik elm or willow.

But I also keep my knives real sharp.

After having two bandits I'm partial to my woodsman. Very few moving parts to keep up with and It will chip it if you put it on the feed table.

Was not a big fan of the dual feed wheels on the bandit, always jammed the bottom wheel with lots of pine going through.

When I worked at Davey all they had were Bandit 250s and 200s. The amount of abuse I saw guys put those through convinced me that it would be tough to build a more durable machine.

thats a good way to say it durable, as far as a mess in the street, the only time i have to open my trap door on the bottom roller is on dead trees, with lots of wood, for some reason little hard bits stick in the wheels, otherwise its never opened

bandits are super dummy proof. you almost look at it and want to be nice to them. Morbarks you just want to feed them see if you can make it jump off the ground w/ the big rounds.

Probably due to opening my big mouth in this thread, today my chipper jammed up solid from chipping elm and some shrubberries. :( Dissapointing.
