its a set of virtual CD decks and a sound mixer for DJing. It hooks to a laptop

I thought it looked like miniature turntables for records at first, but figured it was something else.

Pretty serious looking piece of gear. Couldn't believe it was for a tractor.

it is exactly like mini decks, but digital. Traktor is the software package. Its used pretty much worldwide

I had not seen an 8 string like that. I have seen some with separate strings, not like that.

So its kinda like a 12 string guitar?

Nah, that's just as hard as finding good climbers or groundies. Playing in a band is relatively hard work. It's fun having a friend stop by and ya'll jam, but actually coordinating 3 or 4 or more people to be in one place at one time with all their gear is actually a PITA!

Nowadays, I have fun playing along to backing tracks.

Got a new guy coming over Wed to jam and see what we might do together.

Rough plan if it work out: work up some tunes, hit some open mics, get some small local jobs.

He plays several instruments, as do I. We are both basically pro level Bass players who want to perform on another instrument.

Should be interesting if nothing else.

Not too sure about the duo thing. I've always preferred 3,4 or 5 piece units for their fuller sound.
