Theresa, you'd need to come up with a figure per linear foot of hedge, then some sort of multiplier for over-height stuff. If the hedgerow is out in the open and you need to trim both sides then have a multiplier for that.

As an example, you have 100' of hedge to trim. If your number is $1.50 per foot then it's $150. But you have to go in the neighbor's yard to shape the other side so it's $225. Over 6' high and it's all ladder work so that makes it $450.

I just pulled those numbers out of my ass to make an example, but you get the idea. :)

I gotta go against the grain here, Any tree for $700.00 might yield an equal amount of winners vs. losers.

In this economy how can you fault someone for getting his phone to ring??

I looked thru this years removal estimates, believe it or not my average tree removal was less than $700.00 I might have done better going a flat rate of $700.00.:what:

Brian, you're right on the money. Imagine yourself the homeowner (who might otherwise do the job themself or hire the landscape crew) & you have a "formula" >>> simple & concise...
Any ornamental tree under 10' = $85
10' - 14' = $105
14' - 18' = $145
Etc., etc.
It could be done. When customers call, they already know the basic price.
I dunno. I just have visions (still) of a system that puts me in the average Joe's yard for a fixed price.
$$$
