I got a lot of Es. Turns out home life was a big distraction in my education. That changed after the service and going back to school.

In the interim I gave it my best shot.

I didn't give it my best shot. School bored me, and I still don't like tedious busy work. If I was interested in the subject, I did well. If not, all bets were off. I almost failed gym one semester :^D I liked floor hockey, archery, and fencing. Otherwise I might not even get dressed. Just sit on the bleachers and watch other kids do dumb shit.
