026, ya or na?

Willie, i'll send you my ported one and send yours up here. Lets check them out. Cause if a guy could still get 260's I would get several more built. Run them for a week, I'm wanting to compare.

My crew seems to like them but I'd send it up to let you do a comparison if you want. Heres a couple videos I did when I ported one. Both are running factory new chains and 20" bars. First is small diam oak and the second was pine somewhere near 20"

Hell I'm Stihl to the core (like a dozen now for one crew) and you won't find a saw in that size range in my arsenal. You also won't find a stock saw on the starting line-up. Any saw that is good, is better modded.

Who goes from a 200 to a 260?

They're limbers and firewood cutters .I don't know if they have anymore ass than a 200 on small stuff .A 200 is what I use for limber but then I'm not in the tree biz nor do I own a 3 cuber .

We have one on our crew and it sucks, but its old and I think it has put in its time. But saying that it stays on the truck most of the time. I need to check the fuel line though. It has some of the idling issues mentioned above....thanks for the hint on getting that thing to work again!

Someone with Raynaud syndrome, maybe.
Like me!
You can't get heated handles for the 200.

That's why you have to run the 200T with your off-hand on the muffler.

I am glad I don't have to climb in temps cold enough to warrant heated handles. I only wore gloves a couple of times last winter. Pretty mild. I hope it gets colder this year.

I do...bit bigger saw, little extra reach, not too much heavier, beats muscling a big ass thing around when a little bit more will do, but then again I am only a half pint and so far my trees are small.
Next one up is the 361 20"...

Kat was doing a bang up job with the boys. She just got too hot and needed to rest and get some ice water in her. She came back and dragged and staged for me. We had three of 6 trees done (the worst ones) and I had made it rain cedar. Only took me about an hour to finish it out. She got to take Lilly home and get another little job done while the boys and I cleaned up the place.

Lol. I knew I'd stir a few replys up with my rude question/statement. But for me It's not a jump I'd ever make, personally. If it works for others all the power to you.

Hey, I just don't like swinging 24" of bar around my legs in a 3 foot space chipping :D
Normally I would whip out the 036. But like anything, they all have their little niche if they are in my kit.

I run the 460 by the chipper if I need a saw with a 24" bar, no problemo. My modded 460 to boot, as I've said in the past I don't like to wait on a saw much. Lol.

I've come to love my 3cubes, the 5100 in particular, I do everything I can to not have to grab the 046 anymore, it just hurts!

That being said, I've run 026's before and I wont ever own one!

Your avatar is somewhat misleading.
I've always thought that you were holding a 260.

And that you were a dwarf!

Badoom boomp! Haha good one Stig

Squishy jus' can't HANDLE the short bar...;)

I have actually thought about getting a 261... its a pro saw, so it has the better anti-vibe and stronger build.

Right now I have a 200 and a 460... 2.2/6.0 HP and 8/14 lbs respectively (weights are powerhead only no fuel/oil/bar), I thought the 3.75 HP and 12lbs would fit nicely and handle well on the ground.

For awhile I was using a 660 with a 20" bar as my step up from a 200t. That grew old. But I sure got wood cut quick.
