Is it 22:1 in one cranking direction and 44:1 in the other direction?

The correct right-angle/ "L"-shaped mini-lever (easily fabricated) would wedge open the kerf in the rear of the 'round' when cutting, then lift the near side of a 'round' to allow rails to be placed between spar and 'round'. Rails ever so slightly bigger than the kerf would make removing the...
It needs to ideally skid into the kerf tightly.
I have some larger pieces to experiment with.
Way easier than pushing rounds off without the rails with more horizontal travel. I easily pushed them with one hand while holding my phone.
The one longterm homeowner had a fear of falling and now is taking time getting used to the feeling that there is nothing (visible any longer) outside the window. Hard to tell from the shot closer to the window, but from 6' back there is no ground visible. Funny.
