Today was one of those rare days where the temps in NH are in the 90's range AND the dew point is oppressive. Those of us living and working with coronary heart disease find this weather horrible!
Climbed and wrecked out a huge Pine today and wanted to puke the whole time. Just a nasty day.

Those of you who know about Loggers World Magazine, know who Finley was. Definitely someone who I would have loved to have met.
Came across this old US Logger video from 1983 that I haven't seen in years. It's about working in the blast zone of Mt. St. Helens after it erupted in 1980 and how the loggers spent 3 years daily trying to salvage the wood. They did a hell of a job too, if you ask me.
Hell yeah, I would love that!
I feel so many of us back in the day if we were there, would have been high climbers/riggers working on those massive spars.

It's still one of my favorite ropes to splice and there's so many cool rope tools that you can make with it.

Honestly though, I have to admit that I use mechanical hitches these days way more than the old rope-on-rope.
