I shut er down when its 15 below and days are too short doing urban tree work.
But 30 below as a logger hand falling spruce is a different story. Everything goes so nice , limbs snap off so easy with the skidder delimbing versus my saw, frozen solid timber harvests so quick and smooth with...
Gerry and Dave, yeah we get used to it up here, the cold that is haha.
The Cummins has been sitting outside for 2 weeks since getting back from holidays. Plugged in the block heaters about 8 hrs prior but the oil pan is down low in the wind so at -35F even its synthetic 5-40 oil is still plenty...
Fired up the pickup this morning and temperature gauge on console said -37 Celcius (-35 F).
Good thing I had her plugged in or the Cummins wouldn't have fired.
We're going to be in the 90's with thunderstorm humidity for the next couple of days. Been a cool summer so far though, getting lots of treework done:)
Even the Eskimos up north are getting cold weather they never seen before. Recent reports of one community had a blizzard so severe that tornadoes formed blowing buildings and debris everywhere.
On the other end of the scale my father inlaw who is doing hydro line contract work in Saudi Arabia...
Our Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper is putting 2 gay athletes in the front podium of our Canadian athletes in protest of Russian anti homo sexual views:lol:
No her winter tires are mounted on black steel rims, her summer Michelins are on the minivans aluminum wheels. Every winter rather then switch tires over we have a spare set of rims/tires. The trouble is the winter tires sit for 6 mths or more of the year in the shed which is why the beads dry...
Bob my wife is at Brandon just across the border from you at the moment. She drove 7 hrs yesterday to do a job interview there today, blowing snow, cold she arrived there last night late with a flat tire as she arrived, broken bead.
She ended up getting a mismatched tire from a Walmart this...
 At the last Alberta course in Oct I believe Dwayne said Thor quit, could be wrong though. I know he's not coming to Mexico.
Thanks Dylan, yeah that would be cool to meet up one day.
I just got back from 86 F in P.V. Mexico yesterday to minus -31F this morning here at home. My warm weather climatized lungs started to freeze this morning when I went to shovel my driveway. The snow blower wouldn't start, now in the garage warming up.
Not trying to brag but I have to go back...
Weather is good here in southern Mexico at the moment, had a little rain showers yesterday but back into sunshine today.........beer and margaritias are good too BTW.:)
Yes good video Burnham, makes a fellow think. Especially how fast a strong fast saw with a very sharp chain can do to a 6 inch diameter log , so quickly like cutting butter. Chaps won't prevent injury but at least your leg is not laying on the ground.
